Student of the Month

We are very pleased to recognize Aiamal as our Student of the Month for this December.

Aimal started less than 2 months ago in October struggling with G11 University Math after transferring from G11 University/College with high ambitions. He now is already achieving 90’s after hard work and tutoring Aiml is preparing for G11 University level math exams and the G12 Advanced Functions next semester.

Aimal is now on his way to realize his goals to apply for University Business/Commerce. Congratulations Aimal!

Student of the Month

Congratulations to Taylor, our November 2016 Student of the Month for our Markham Crossing Academy! Since Taylor has joined the Academy her Math mark has improved from Cs to 89%!

Impressive work, Taylor. Keep it up! The entire Academy is proud of you!

Student of the Month

We are very pleased to recognize Aren as our Student of the Month for this October. Aren has made solid progress in marks and confidence.

He was able to rescue his G10 Math year with the Academy for Mathematics & English at the end of Term. His goal is for great 2nd Semester G11 Math results with continued practice in the 1st Semester. Aren is now getting 80’s in Science and 90’s in other subjects with tutoring and coaching for writing and critical thinking (including EQAO Literacy & Essays) in preparation for top marks for University/College.
Aren is recognized for his hard work, enthusiasm and results!

Student of the Month

We are very pleased to recognize Bema Osei-Kwabena as our first Back-to-School Student of the Month for this September. On his first school test he saw a 14% rise in his score versus typical results from the year before! Amazing progress!

Bema is making the challenging transition to the first year of High School. He was struggling with math, and decided to join us this Summer for our Jumpstart to Grade 9 Math program that teaches all the new concepts in two weeks. In August, Bema continued to review weak areas that were not mastered from previous grades and has already achieved a 14% grade level increase in his first High School test! From struggling to A’s, we aim not just for high marks, but for increased confidence and joy in learning success for Bema, and all our Students and Families at the Academy for Mathematics & English.

Students of the Month

Two great success stories we had to award both students with Student of the Month for June – Congrats Alyssa Antonopoulos & Charmaine Leung!

Alyssa is one of our most motivated students who is really on top of her studies (and not just Math now). Originally she was struggling with all the challenges of change and confidence, but she just got her first 90% as another example of Excellence in all our students who on average, achieve 10-20% grade increase within six months. Alyssa has really earned her Student of the Month with her fine Effort and Excellence!

Charmaine started with us in September with 60% in Grade 11 University Math (Functions). Her Final Exam in January was 96%. She’s now taking Grade 12 Advanced Functions going in with a 94% average and Grade 11 Chemistry with a 92% at school. Amazing results, Charmaine! You inspire us all!

Student of the Month

We are proud to present our May Student of the Month – Vishal Manek!

Vishal started with us 6 months ago. Prior to joining, he was scoring in the 80s in the demanding International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. He now consistently scores 97% – 100% in IB Maths!

You have made phenomenal progress, Vishal. Congratulations!

Typically most students will improve one or two grade levels within 6 months at our Academy. Vishal is an excellent example of the type of achievement that is possible.

Student of the Month

John Papaspyropoulos is Markham Crossing’s April Student of the Month!

John is proof that you can be a great “athlete” and a great “student,” if you work hard at both.

Struggling with concepts that were not properly taught before, John was able to bring his understanding and marks up one and two grade levels to high 80s and 90s with our top tutors and our customized Ontario aligned curriculum that filled in the gaps and elevated John to the top of his game!

Student of the Month

Congratulations, Anthony Argueta! You are Markham Crossing’s March Student of the Month! Anthony transferred out of the Niagara Falls City School District to one of Markham’s more challenging schools. Stressed out and struggling to adapt, Anthony rose from C-/Failures to averaging B’s/B pluses and earned his first A at school within 5 months of enrolling at the Academy.

With newfound confidence and the momentum of on-going success, he now enjoys school and looks forward every week to tutoring at the Academy. And, we love to see him here!

Well done, Anthony! You ought to be very proud of yourself. We, at the Markham Crossing Academy, as well as at all Academy locations throughout Canada, are all proud of your impressive progress! Keep it up !

Students of the Month

Congratulations to 2 special Academy students – Lucas Mizzi & Verbana Rames.

Lucas has transformed his grades from low C’s to consistently earning 85% and most recently achieving 93% on his latest school test!

Verbana started in Grade 9 with high 80s and achieved 97% on her final Grade 10 math exam!

Impressive work, Lucas & Verbana! Both have been honoured as Students of the Month for February, for their outstanding achievement!
