Academy for Mathematics & English Franchise Holdings Ltd. and Academy for Mathematics & English (Canada) Ltd. and its subsidiaries (collectively, “Academy”, “AME”, “us”, “we”, or “our”) take your privacy seriously and understand the importance of protecting your personal information. Therefore, this Privacy Policy provides information about our privacy practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data and the choices you have associated with that data.

Introduction

Protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of your information – through our offices over the Internet, via facsimile, or on the telephone – has always been fundamental to the way we do business at the Academy for Mathematics & English. Our Use and Disclosure of Your Information for Marketing Purposes

We may use and disclose to each other your information for the purposes of selectively including you in those advertising and marketing campaigns designed to increase the awareness of the Academy services and those advertising and marketing campaigns designed to promote the goodwill associated with our businesses which we believe will be of interest to you. Some of our advertising and marketing campaigns include sending out newsletters and promotional offers.

As required by the CSA Model Code, the Academy will not use personal information for any purpose other than that for which you consented. Should the Academy of Mathematics & English require personal information for a new purpose, we will contact you to seek consent for that new use.

Limits for Collecting, Using, Disclosing and Keeping Personal Information

The Academy does not collect, use or disclose personal information of individuals except when individuals give consent and provide the information on a voluntary basis. There may be occasions where more specific personal information is necessary for us to proceed with a request for information, or provide you with a product or service. In such cases, we will provide you with a description on the information we need. In all cases, the Academy limits the amount and type of information collected to only the personal information that is required to provide the individual with the requested information, product, or service. We collect only information that is voluntarily provided by you and undertake that such information will be kept strictly confidential.

Retention of Data

The Academy will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

The Academy will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

The Academy does not sell or trade any personal information with third parties. The Academy may transfer information to service providers in the course of its administrative procedures. If we learn of a security breach involving your personal information, we will attempt to notify you electronically within 72 hours so that you can take appropriate protective steps. Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 16 (“Children”).

Google Analytics – Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network. The Academy uses remarketing services to advertise on third-party websites to you after you visited our Service. We and our third-party vendors use cookies to inform, optimize and serve ads based on your past visits to our Service.

Google AdWords – Google AdWords remarketing service is provided by Google Inc. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize the Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page. Accuracy of and Access to Personal Information Collected

The Academy makes every effort to keep personal information as accurate, complete, current and relevant as necessary for the identified purposes. The Academy does not routinely update personal information.

The Academy makes readily available to individuals our Privacy Policy and related procedures for managing personal information. We provide access to the Privacy Policy and related procedures to individuals on the Academy website and in written form. Any questions about the handling of personal information by the Academy can be raised with our Data Controller at Head Office or with the Data Controller at each individual franchise.

At the written request of an individual, he or she may view or edit their personal information as collected by the Academy. The Academy for Mathematics & English will inform them of what personal information we have about the individual, what it is being used for and, in cases where it has been disclosed, to whom it has been disclosed. There may be exceptional circumstances as provided by the CSA Model Code under which the Academy may not be able to give an individual access to the personal information about her or him held by the Academy. In this case the Academy for Mathematics & English will explain the reason for this lack of access, as provided by the CSA Model Code.

To make a request, please contact us as indicated at the end of this policy. In your request, please include the following information: Name, contact details, student number (where applicable), the nature of your request, including whether you wish to view and/or edit information or inquire regarding use and/or disclosure.

The Academy will reply to your request in no later than thirty days after receipt of the request, or if we are not able to respond within this time period, we will send you a notice of extension. If we are not able to disclose all the personal information we hold on you, we will give you a reason for our inability to do so, unless prohibited by law.

Changes and Updates to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
